DEI, Harm Reduction & Cultural Humility
This 2-session course covers the core strategies for cultural humility processing on a personal and organizational level.
What you will learn
- Identify shared mission, values, and norms within the group
- Define cultural humility and its core principles
- Identify core strategies for cultural humility processing on a personal and organizational level
- Understand the history and significance of harm reduction as an equity mindset
- Describe the history and importance of DEI and cultural humility
- Develop an action plan for expanding current efforts aimed at building a leadership toolkit for equity and cultural humility
Workshops typically include:
- Introductions and icebreakers
- Review of core concepts
- Viewing of the 35-minute film on the principles and history of cultural humility
- Overview of activities that facilitate understanding of harm reduction
- Small group discussion on DEI, harm reduction, and cultural humility in leadership
- Developing a self-care and action plan

- DEI leaders, chief diversity or equity officers, administrators, classified professionals, students, program leaders, clergy, community center staff, counselors, educators, therapists, coaches, social workers, and mentors
- Anyone who works directly with other people
- Anyone who works in an organization/network/coalition dedicated to ensuring the cultural safety, health, well-being, sense of belonging, and equity for themselves and others
